CONTEST RULES

  1. Eligibility

    1. Who Can Participate

      The contest is open to all individuals aged 18 or older of any nationality, including both professional and amateur photographers.

    2. Restrictions for Sanctioned Countries

      If the contest is not free of charge or if the prize includes monetary compensation, due to international legal and financial restrictions, we may be unable to process registration or award payments from or to the following sanctioned countries: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, Venezuela, Myanmar (Burma), Belarus, Zimbabwe, Sudan.

    3. Exclusions

      The following are excluded from participation:

      • Employees, collaborators, and their direct family members at Exposure Photo Gallery.
      • Jury members and their direct family members.
    4. Protection of Personal Data

      By participating in Exposure Photo Gallery contests, personal data (such as name, email address, phone number) will be collected solely for the purpose of managing registrations and handling necessary communications for each contest. This data will not be shared with third parties under any circumstances. By submitting their registration, each participant expressly consents to the use of their data in accordance with this clause.

  2. Theme and Contest Format

    Each contest organized by Exposure Photo Gallery will have a specific theme, which will be outlined in the corresponding call for entries published on our official platforms. The call will also specify particular rules, such as the number of images allowed per participant, the registration fee (if any), and any other relevant details. No divisions into categories are considered for these general contest rules.

  3. Image Specifications

    1. Format and Size

      • Images must be submitted in JPG format, saved at maximum quality.
      • The required size for each image is 1800 pixels on the longest side.
      • Images must use the sRGB color space.
    2. Additional Rules

      • Watermarks, borders, or visible signatures are not allowed on submitted images.
      • Images must be original and may not contain offensive content or infringe on the rights of third parties.
      • Participants are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions if their images include recognizable people.
    3. Restrictions on the Use of Artificial Intelligence

      Submitted images must be primarily created from traditional photography, whether digital or analog. If artificial intelligence is used in the creative process, it must be limited to the editing or enhancement of images originally captured with a camera (for example, removing noise or adjusting sharpness using AI-based tools). Images generated entirely by artificial intelligence will not be accepted. In case of reasonable doubt regarding the authenticity of a photograph, Exposure Photo Gallery reserves the right to request the original file to verify its origin.

    4. Previously Submitted or Awarded Photographs

      • Photographs previously submitted to other contests, regardless of their results, are allowed.
      • Photographs that have received any award or mention in previous contests organized by Exposure Photo Gallery are not allowed.
    5. Time Limit

      Submitted photographs must have been captured within the last 10 years up to the contest’s closing date.

  4. Registration Process

    1. Submission Platform

      All registrations must be completed through an online platform specifically designed for Exposure Photo Gallery contests. Entries submitted by email or physical photos will not be accepted under any circumstances.

    2. Registration Confirmation

      The system will provide an automatic confirmation once the registration is complete.

    3. Required Data

      Participants must fill in the data requested in the online registration interface, which will include relevant personal information and details about the submitted images.

    4. Payment (if applicable)

      For paid contests, registrations will be processed through PayPal, appearing under the name One World Solutions SRL of Argentina dba Exposure Photo Gallery.

      • If the participant does not complete the payment properly, the registration will not be considered valid.
  5. Participation Fees

    Participation fees depend on the particular conditions of each contest, as detailed in the specific call for entries. Some contests may be free of charge, while others may require an entry fee or allow a limited number of free entries with an additional cost for extra images.
    Participation fees are non-refundable under any circumstances (whether partially or fully), including but not limited to the disqualification of photographs for non-compliance with the contest rules.

  6. Deadlines

    Key dates for each contest, such as the opening and closing of registrations, the announcement of results, and any other relevant deadlines, will be detailed in the specific call for entries published on our official platforms. These dates may be subject to change, which will be communicated in a timely manner.

  7. Evaluation Criteria

    1. Criteria

      Photographs will be evaluated by a jury of experts in photography or art. The evaluation criteria include:

      • Relevance to the theme.
      • Originality and creativity.
      • Visual impact.
      • Technical quality.

      Note: The criteria are not listed in order of importance; all will be considered comprehensively during the evaluation.

    2. Finality of the Jury’s Decisions

      Decisions made by the jury regarding the selection and awarding of photographs are final and cannot be appealed.

  8. Notification of Results

    1. Notification Method

      Selected participants will be contacted by email and by WhatsApp or Telegram, depending on the information they have provided in their profile.

    2. Publication of Selected Images

      Winning photographs will be exhibited in the gallery as indicated in the specific contest information, published on the official Exposure Photo Gallery website at the time of the exhibition opening, and shared on the official Instagram account according to the gallery’s established timeline.

    3. High-Resolution Files

      Winners must provide high-resolution files of their photographs for printing and display. Deadlines for submitting these files will be specified in each call for entries. All printing and mounting costs will be covered by Exposure Photo Gallery at no additional cost to the winners.
      If the files are not provided within the stated deadline, the work will be excluded from the exhibition.

  9. Copyright and Image Use

    1. Copyright

      All participants retain the copyright to their images at all times.

    2. Authorized Use by Exposure Photo Gallery

      The submitted images (whether winning or not) may be used by Exposure Photo Gallery in relation to the contest and its promotional activities. This includes:

      • Displaying the images in the gallery.
      • Publishing them on the gallery’s official website.
      • Using them on the gallery’s official social media accounts, such as Instagram.
      • Including them in press releases and promotional materials related to contests organized by the gallery.
      • Including them in digital or printed catalogs, including books, related to contests or exhibitions organized by Exposure Photo Gallery.

      For winning photographs printed for an exhibition, they will be safeguarded by Exposure Photo Gallery for a maximum of 24 months after the exhibition ends. During this period, and unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed upon with the photographers, the printed works may be responsibly destroyed.

    3. Usage Restrictions

      Images will not be sold or licensed to third parties.

    4. Credit

      Whenever the images are used, proper credit will be given to the photographer.

  10. Participants’ Responsibilities

    1. Declaration of Rights

      Participants declare they are the sole owners of the rights to the submitted images and guarantee that these do not infringe on third-party rights.

    2. Necessary Permissions

      It is the responsibility of the participants to obtain any required permissions for the people or places depicted in their images. This includes, but is not limited to, recognizable models or other subjects. Exposure Photo Gallery will not assume liability for any absence of such permissions.

    3. Disclaimer of Liability

      Exposure Photo Gallery is not liable for legal claims, costs, or disputes that may arise as a result of any failure by the participants in relation to their images.

    4. Transparency in Exceptional Cases

      In order to protect the integrity of the contest and ensure a fair process for all participants, and always with the aim of maintaining transparency and respect toward the photographic community, Exposure Photo Gallery reserves the right to request evidence to demonstrate the authorship of a submitted photograph, such as the original file, in cases where there are reasonable doubts about its authenticity.

  11. Prizes and Recognitions

    1. Description of Prizes

      Prizes and recognitions will be detailed in the specific call for entries for each contest.

    2. Exhibition of Winning Works

      Winning works will be exhibited in the gallery as outlined in the information for each contest.

    3. Special Conditions

      Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be substituted under any circumstances. They also may not be exchanged for money.

    4. Monetary Prizes

      If monetary prizes are awarded, they will be transferred in USD via PayPal or Payoneer. Any applicable taxes will be the sole responsibility of the winner.

  12. Modifications and Contest Cancellation

    1. Modifications

      Exposure Photo Gallery reserves the right to modify the contest rules if unforeseen circumstances require it.

    2. Cancellation

      In the event of serious or unforeseen circumstances that prevent the contest from taking place, dates may be modified or the contest may be canceled. If the contest is a paid one and it is canceled for reasons beyond our control, registration fees will be refunded to participants. This is the only exception to the non-refund rule.

  13. Dispute Resolution

    Any dispute must first be addressed through a mediation process agreed upon by both parties before resorting to judicial instances. Any legal dispute related to this contest will be governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. Participants agree that the competent courts of the city of Río Tercero, Córdoba, will be the sole jurisdiction to resolve any controversy.

  14. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

    By registering on the registration platform and clicking the acceptance button, participants declare that they have read, understood, and fully accept these terms and conditions, without exception.

  15. Conditions of Use and Unacceptable Behavior

    1. Expected Behavior

      We expect participants to behave respectfully and professionally in all their interactions with Exposure Photo Gallery. We discourage the use of offensive, insulting, or threatening language in any communication, whether written or verbal, and any attempt to intimidate or harass the organizing team, jurors, or participants.

    2. Right of Exclusion and Consequences

      Exposure Photo Gallery reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate any person’s access to its systems, services, or contests if it detects behaviors or actions that, at its sole discretion, are deemed inappropriate, offensive, or harmful to the organization, its collaborators, jurors, or the photography community at large. Possible consequences include:

      • Blocking the participant from the platform and from future contests.
      • Reporting the incident to the relevant authorities if the situation warrants it.
      • Removing any material submitted by the participant, without refund of registration fees if applicable.
    3. Additional Prohibitions

      It is strictly prohibited to:

      • Use false email addresses or phone numbers, or impersonate other individuals or entities in any communication with the gallery.
      • Upload, post, email, or transmit content that violates third-party rights or applicable laws.
    4. Content Submitted by Participants

      Participants must guarantee that the submitted content:

      • Is not illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, invasive of privacy, nor incites hatred or discrimination for racial, ethnic, religious, gender-related, or any other reasons.
      • Does not contain images of child abuse, child pornography, nudity of minors, or any depiction of minors in sexual acts or in situations of a sexual nature. Any such material will be immediately reported to the competent authorities.
    5. Limitation of Liability

      Exposure Photo Gallery will not be liable for any damage of any kind arising from the use of its platform, website, or services.

    6. Final Decisions

      Decisions made by Exposure Photo Gallery regarding the exclusion of a participant are final and not subject to appeal.

  16. Risk and Damage Coverage

    Exposure Photo Gallery does not assume responsibility for damages, theft, or any other loss that physical works may suffer during exhibitions, set-up, or dismantling, or due to force majeure. As far as possible, precautions will be taken to safeguard the works; however, the participant understands and accepts that there is an inherent risk in the physical exhibition of photographs.
